Gooch and the Motion Band Trailer

As many of you know, I've spent nearly a decade dedicating my life to music. Writing songs, performing, inspiring, and entertaining people is my life, my purpose, and my joy. However, none of it would be possible without you. I'm so incredibly grateful for my band mates, friends, family, supporters, and fans. The feeling is incredibly humbling but so very much appreciated.

It's with this in mind that I invite you all to join the Motion!!! What does this mean? Well, as many of you know, I was recently signed by 9-time Grammy Award Winning Producer Joe "the Butcher" Nicolo to his new record label Blacbird Records. We are preparing to break ground on my first solo album with a new band of hand picked musicians called "Gooch and the Motion." The reason we chose "The Motion" is because we want our fans to feel included in the process of everything we do. Music feeds off of energy! It's all one motion!

Also, we are working extremely hard to produce a documentary that will not only chronicle my journey from being paralyzed in 2004 to becoming a professional musician, but that will capture the making of this new record, some big shows, and a lot of unique opportunities in 2015.

So, stay tuned in to my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/GoochNelsonOfficial) and website (www.goochnelson.com)  for new information as we embark on this journey together. We will be launching a campaign unlike anything you've seen from me in the past.

With that being said, I give you, Gooch and the Motion!!!!! Enjoy this live footage from World Cafe Live Philadelphia!

Support Local Music and Artists

The winter has been rough on musicians this year. Loading in and out of venues and trying to pull people out in the snow can be a nightmare. However, the show's must go on and it is my privilege to inform you about several great gigs I have this weekend and next week!

First, tonight, Friday, March 7th I'll be at Homegrown Cafe in Newark DE acoustic with 61 North front man Brian LaPann from 10pm-1am! We grew up playing this UD hot spot and it holds a special place in our heart. They have an enormous selection of IPA's and killer food! Blues and brews!

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 8th I'll be at the Auburn Road Winery for a long overdue show with The Killer Beez from 7pm-9pm!! The Killer Beez are a musical super group featuring singer/songwriter Bo Rains, former Digable Planets and BAM! bassist Mitch Beers, and myself with an ever changing arsenal of local and Philly musicians sitting in with us. Our sound consists of everything from country/blues to funk and soul music. The wine and staff at this winery are in a class of their own. Don't miss this rare show! Reserve a table now.

Wednesday, March 12th, you can find Bob Comfort, Josh Dubois, and I, aka the Reverb Brothers, performing at Kaminskies Bar and Grill in Haddonfield NJ at 7pm. You may remember 61 North rocking this awesome sports bar outside on the deck over the past few years. Now, the Brothers are bringing a soulful country/blues sound to the great people at Kaminskies in order to avoid the cops being called. This was a frequent problem before, but should no longer be the case considering we play acoustic. Can't wait to see some of our old regulars!

Stay tuned to my page for more announcements!! I'll soon be dropping a new website dedicated to all the groups I play in, my motivational speaking, and of course my blog!!

Honored to Perform at Doc Pomus Documentary Premier in Philly

I am extremely humbled and honored to announce that I will perform a short set as well as speak at the Reelabilities Film Festival on Monday, March 24th at 7:30pm. I will be performing and participating in a Q&A at the Roxy Theater where they'll be premiering the music documentary "AKA Doc Pomus."

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Doc, he was one of the most talented and successful songwriters in the music industry. He penned such hits as "Save the Last Dance For Me," "This Magic Moment," "Viva Las Vegas," and "A Teenager in Love." He worked with and wrote songs for countless legendary artists like B.B. King, Dr. John, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, and Ray Charles.

Great music, especially blues and soul music, often comes from a place of pain, struggle, and hardship. Doc contracted Polio when he was a boy and spent the majority of his life in a wheel chair and on crutches. Despite his challenges, he lived one of the richest and most fulfilling lives of anyone I've ever seen. He traveled, dated beautiful women, worked with legends, and had more hit records than I can keep track of.
